At 1:50 pm on February 11, an African guy came to the Qiandong Police Station of Yunyan Public Security Branch of Guiyang City.
"Police o?cer, I want to donate some money to Wuhan!" With saying these words, he handed 5 pieces of cash in 100 yuan RMB to the police on duty. Although the young man's Chinese is not ?uent, it does not a?ect his expression.
After receiving the report from the police on duty, Huang Yunfei, a trainer at Qiandong Police Station, received the special donor. After a brief exchange, it was known that the young man was an international student and wanted to donate some money to Wuhan, but had no idea about the exact way of the donation, so he found the police and hoped that the police would help him to donate the money.
When the police asked for his name and phone number, the young man was shy and only left the information that he was a student from Africa and studying at Guizhou Normal University on Baoshan North Road. After giving 500 RMB and a piece of paper full of blessings to the police, the boy quickly left.
On this paper were the words: “We are together! I am a foreign student from Africa. As a student, although I have no income, I hope to do my best to support China and the Chinese people to ?ght against the new coronavirus. Go China! Go Wuhan!” and signature: Guiyang, Guizhou, Eritrea.
The reporter search on Baidu and found that Eritrea is not the name of the young man, but a country. It is located in northeast Africa, west of the Republic of Sudan, south of Ethiopia and Djibouti, and across the Red Sea to the east facing Saudi Arabia and Yemen. Eritrea is one of the least developed countries in the world. It is dominated by agriculture and 80% of the population is engaged in agriculture and animal husbandry.
Later, Huang Yunfei contacted the Charity Federation of Guizhou Province and asked about the donation account of Wuhan Charity Federation, and donated the money with kindness from this African student to the epidemic area in Wuhan.
